What Is Spravato?
Spravato is a medication that is used to treat severe, treatment-resistant depression.
It is administered as a nasal spray, and patients typically undergo the Spravato treatment under the supervision of a mental health professional.
During the treatment, patients will receive a dose of Spravato through a nasal spray device. The medication works by targeting and regulating certain brain chemicals that are involved in mood and emotional regulation. This can help alleviate the symptoms of depression and improve the patient’s overall well-being. Unlike most antidepressants that take 4 to 8 weeks to work, many patients report symptom improvements with Spravato treatment in Ohio as early as a week.
SPRAVATO® helped Nicole’s treatment-resistant depression. Now, she’s resuming her education and sharing her story.
Allison’s son tried many oral antidepressants without relief. Now, because of SPRAVATO®, Allison’s son is starting to feel like himself again.
While Spravato treatment is generally considered safe, there are potential side effects that patients should be aware of. These can include dizziness, nausea, headache, and disorientation. In rare cases, more serious side effects such as increased blood pressure or hallucinations may occur. Patients undergoing Spravato treatment in Ohio at Allied Healthcare will be closely monitored by their mental health professionals to ensure that any potential side effects are promptly addressed.
It’s important to note that Spravato treatment is not recommended for everyone, and is only suitable for patients with treatment-resistant depression who have not responded well to other forms of treatment.
